Built originally in the canton of Valais and then transported and reconstructed in Maienfeld by the Swiss author John Knittel, this three-floor chalet oozes patina, making you feel like you're in a 19th-century western movie set - or at least in a vintage fondue TV commercial, if anything!
Other than the chalet, the property also offers an empty 1930's villa with a romantic garden and an antique library in a separate guest house. It's located a short drive from the city centre of picturesque Maienfeld, the home of world-famous Heidi, and literally across the road from the eponymous fountain.
