This private library is easily the most unexpected part of the three-unit property on the hills of Maienfeld, Switzerland.
Built by the renowned Swiss author John Knittel together with the adjoining villa, the library is built into a guest house and thus marked by sheer understatement from the outside – but it’s the inside that will not leave you indifferent. The antique pastel coloured furniture, the wooden railings of the 360-degree gallery, the stone fireplace and above all, the shelves filled with books running all along the walls of the room set the scene for your next production of whatever historical story you decide to tell.
Other than the library guest house, the property also offers an unfurnished 1930's villa with a sloping romantic garden and a truly sun-burnt Swiss Chalet. The property is located a short drive from the city centre of picturesque Maienfeld, and literally across the road from the famous Heidi Fountain.
