The court architect Reinhold Persius, son of the famous royal architect Ludwig Persius, built it in 1873/1874 as a summer residence for the wealthy Berlin timber merchant Carl Francke in direct view of Sanssouci Palace. The property is the only clear example of monumental villa architecture in Potsdam based on the Dresden model. Particularly impressive, and built in the Italian Renaissance style with a triumphal arch motif, is the villa's large veranda, from which a broad flight of steps leads into the park. With the exception of a reconstruction in 1911 by Peter Behrens, the villa has largely retained its outer structure and floor plan. The dining room, once richly decorated with paintings and stucco, is still fantastic today, with a ceiling height of almost 5 meters. Inlaid parquet flooring, marble fireplaces and columns, valuable doors are just some of the historical stylistic elements that adorn this outstanding villa. The villa was restored in 1992 and is now privately owned.
There is a separate shed opposite the villa, which is being restored and can also be rented, either as a motif or for production rooms with private bath/WC/electricity connections.

Quick answers about how Plush74 works.
Plush74 is a curated marketplace for film, photo and event locations across Europe. Clients browse thousands of handpicked spaces, like villas, lofts, studios and event venues, search by description or reference image, chat directly with the location owner, and book through the platform. Location owners can list their space, receive booking requests, and manage everything through their own dashboard.
Search using filters, a text description, or a reference image. Save the ones you like, then send a chat request straight to the owner. You can message several locations and manage every conversation from one inbox. Once you agree on dates and price, Plush74 handles the contract and payment, and you'll see the booking move through simple status steps. Browsing and chatting is free for clients.
Three steps: apply on our listing page and pay a one-time €74 onboarding fee, our team personally reviews your submission for quality, and once approved you get a dashboard to upload photos, set your price and go live. Clients then contact you directly through chat. Plush74 only takes a commission when a booking actually happens. No booking, no fee. There's no monthly subscription.
Each owner sets their own rental rate. Plush74 doesn't fix prices. Rates are usually shown and booked as a day rate, with a standard day counted as 10 hours and extra time billed as overtime. Prices are shown in the location's local currency (EUR or CHF) and are net, excluding VAT where applicable. Always confirm the exact rate and what's included in your quote.
To protect our locations' privacy, listings are shown under a working name and a general area (city and country) only, never the exact street address, until a booking is confirmed. This lets owners stay discoverable without exposing their address to everyone browsing. Once your request becomes a confirmed booking, the full address and details are shared in your booking confirmation and contract.
For general questions, email yeah@plush74.com. The team reads every message. You can also call +49 30 7001 6966, available 09:00-18:00 CET, Monday to Friday. If you're a location owner with a listing question, use members@plush74.com instead. There's also a Contact page with all these details.
There are two main paths: a free client account for anyone looking to find and book a location (browse, save favourites, chat with owners, track requests), and a member account for location owners who want to list a space (upload photos, set pricing, receive chat requests, manage bookings). Companies or agencies managing several locations apply the same way. You choose your path when you sign up.
On any listing page, scroll to the request form below the photos and fill in your name, email, phone, project, budget, team size and dates, plus a short message about your shoot. Click Send Request. The more detail you give, the faster our team can confirm availability. All requests are screened before a chat opens with the location.
