On the 17-hectare site of the Museum Park there are a large number of historical buildings
and plants with which the raw material limestone from the adjacent opencast mine is transported or
was processed. All technical buildings, which were built according to the designs of famous architects like Schinkel
form a unique architectural ensemble. It belongs to the most important
Industrial monuments of Germany. The buildings, facilities and open spaces are free for every visitor
and offer plenty of space for art & culture, for excursions, for seminars & workshops, for celebrations
and sociability.
Every year, thousands of visitors experience the obligatory festivities in the museum park - the mountain festival, which is
local mining tradition, Walpurgis, Easter, Halloween or even the winterly
Fairytale magic - Rüdersdorf Christmas Market.
For a long time the Museum Park Rüdersdorf has also been an insider tip for film productions of "Inglourious
Basterds", the "wandering whore" to "Terra X".
