We run into many unique spaces in Berlin, as where ever, but this is one of the most breathtaking lofts in the city we’ve come across so far, and not only the studio itself but the history behind it and the love put into this space, makes it extra special. It is said that the city built a bridge to the island just for Klappert and fellow artists residing in the building. The loft, formerly a factory, is in the midst of Berlin but entirely secluded, on a tiny island at Nonnendammm.
The studio has 600 square meters, adorned as it is by the owner and his artist friends, the industrial loft has wooden floors, vintage furniture, large factory windows, visible in most of the doors as well as the sunroom, from the floor-to-ceiling handcrafted bookcases and in front of the window lies a shallow water basin, which nearly gives you the feeling of being in some sort of monastery, if it weren’t for the pool table and the vintage stereo that stands beside the basin. The whole place just leaves you in total awe.
Upon entering it's difficult not to be struck by the vastness of space and its unique furnishings. Even the bathroom will leave you speechless and if it looks familiar we will let you in on a little secret, the German movie ‘Keinohrhasen’ was shot here. Who will be the next?
The Industrial loft is available for film productions, photoshoots and great opportunities!
