Welcome to one of the world’s most exciting living homes of the 1920s and 30s. Welcome aboard the ‘noodle steamer’: the Haus Schminke by Hans Scharoun.

Looking back at his work, architect Hans Scharoun once called the Haus Schminke „The house I loved the most“. Experience its unique architecture, take pleasure in the ambience created by light and air and enjoy countless wonderful details inside this icon of modernism.

Upon entering the property, a wide driveway leads to the main entrance with a cantilever roof that, especially when illuminated by night, adds a futuristic touch. The elongated living room on the ground floor extends into a winter garden in the east. The bank of windows facing south answers the call for day-long sunlight. Ceiling-high windows open up the room to the north toward the garden. With its transparency, the house eliminates any barriers between the inside and the outside. The first floor is reserved for the bedrooms and accommodation for guests. The fully equipped kitchen still shows most of its original design and the principles of the modernist „Frankfurt kitchen“.

The breath-taking atmosphere of the Haus Schminke is available for conferences, customer events, photo and film shoots and meetings from Monday to Wednesday. From Thursday to Sunday, we are happy to present the optimal stage for your evening programme.
