The Moorish style with domes of intertwined arches, rich and refined ornaments made of stucco and molded plaster, painted and gilded, and with marble columns, recalls the elegance of the minarets of Baghdad and Damascus, the towers of the Alhambra and the Alcazar of Seville, taking you on a journey to remote times and places.
Thanks to the patronage of Cristoforo Benigno Crespi, the architect Angelo Colla, who started from an initial setting as an ornatist and decorator, has the opportunity to highlight his best qualities: A romantic scenographic taste and a passionate attention to the decorative detail that allows him in the last years of his career to carry out a significant activity as a real independent architect.
The architect Colla realizes the Villa enriching it in every corner, from the majestic hall with a splendid Florentine mosaic floor, to the ornamented walls that end on the ceiling with a starry sky in pure Moorish style, to the windows inlaid with a thousand decorations and to the wonderful parquet of wood. Finally, the imposing minaret, a reference to the Arab architectural style, which has become one of the most recognizable and emblematic symbols of Lake Orta.
