Founded in 1868, the Hoppegarten racetrack, which is over 150 years old and the oldest and largest sports venue in the capital region, is a true Berlin institution. After privatization in 2008, Hoppegarten has developed into the most dynamic racetrack in Germany in terms of spectators, betting turnover and sponsors. In 2013, the 207ha facility was officially declared a "monument of national importance" and is poised to become a leading venue for outdoor events in the capital region. In addition to a wide range of hospitality and sponsorship offers on a race day, the racetrack offers several event options on the beautiful listed site.
Various guest events of different sizes have been taking place for several years: Since 2016, the Medieval Fantasy Spectaculum and the Radio B2 SchlagerHammer have been held in Hoppegarten, and in 2017 the two-day Lollapalooza Music Festival took place with 85,000 visitors per day - which was the largest number of festival visitors in Germany. In 2019, the 90s live Berlin and the interior flower picking by Sourkrauts also found a new home. The racetrack is a perfect location for sports and entertainment runs as well as for vehicle and drone presentations, advertising, photo and film shoots, and parts of the film Timm Thaler as well as scenes for the Babylon Berlin series have already been shot
