On a bike ride almost a decade ago, the owners of this unique location spied what would later become an unlikely home — a derelict water tower, perched on a hill surrounded by trees.
Since 2016, the ‘’White Villa” has been the exhibition venue with the highest rooms in the region, allowing for large-scale artworks, paintings, and installations to be exhibited, this space is now also available for all kinds of productions. It has brick walls and the entire posterior part of the villa is assembled out of steel, serving as a fantastic backdrop.
The brick tower beside the house is designated as a historic landmark of about 21 m in height, 1,500 m2 in size and a total of six levels. The ground floor and first floor have an office on each storey, then comes the bedroom and the master bathroom, which is suspended over it. On the fourth level is the home’s second entrance, a guest toilet and a storage room; the fifth floor is dedicated to the kitchen and dining area while the top floor, the living room, offers an impressive 360-degree-view – observe the light bouncing off the Grimnitzsee, a true spectacle.
The home is decorated with vintage furniture, smooth concrete and red flooring, a wooden staircase that connects all floors. Some whimsical sculptures, several pieces of furniture and experimental objects, made of a new hemp-based material called Zelfo, are scattered around the house.
One more tower was built alongside the original one to make it handicapped-accessible. It’s windowed in red glass panels and houses the elevator that brings visitors to the view point. It can also be reached simply via the spiral staircase and offers breathtaking views of the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, with its mixed-growth forests, lakes, rare birds and amphibians… The pair of towers are undoubtedly an architectural highlight.
Surrounded by nature, the white villa, the brick tower with its lookout point offers many and exciting layouts for your next production, with plenty of light and space to make any visionary idea come to life!
