Passionate about architecture, design and hospitality, Pedro and Mariana rehabilitated a derelict 19th century building located in the historic heart of Porto, into a luminous, minimalist and pleasant guesthouse where old and new are creatively mixed.
In collaboration with the architect Luís Sobral of DepA Architects, the original townhouse was reimagined with a great eye and feeling for structure and texture, partly restored and partly reconstructed.
In the Ground Floor, the light from the skylight and the garden light up the interior, where the old wood table stands up, together with the old stone portal. The modern annex extends through the garden where peaceful, quiet breakfasts are served.
In the two upper floors we can find 8 rooms. 4 different typologies, 4 different spaces. To the front, 4 rooms with a small balcony with views to the City and São Sebastião Market. In the back, 4 rooms with larger balconies and breathtaking views of the Sé Cathedral, Clérigos Tower and red roofs of the old city.
